FESTIVAL PREVIEW: All Points East Festival – Bring Me The Horizon, Architects & More
With festival season well underway, All Points East Festival returns for its second year to London’s Victoria Park. Spanning across two long weekends in May and June, the festival plays hosts to some of the most exciting names in music on its multiple stages.
All Points East made its debut amongst the festival circuit in 2018. Founded by AEG Presents, the music promoting masterminds have carefully crafted the ten-day outdoor event. This includes the midweek interlude In The Neighbourhood offering free activities and entertainment, putting a pause on the live events which feature dominating and up-and-coming acts within the bustling music scene.
If you’re heading down to All Points East on Friday 31st May you will be treated to the festival’s outstanding alternative line-up, featuring some of the hottest names in rock, metal and everything in between. Need some help to plan your day? Check out our must see bands!
Sleeping With Sirens
After frontman Kellin Quinn took to Twitter to hint about the band’s follow up to 2017’s Gossip, metalcore turned pop-rock outfit Sleeping With Sirens promise to deliver Quinn’s versatile singing style with his band mates’ captivating instrumental artistry. If I’m James Dean, Then You’re Audrey Hepburn, Do It Now Remember It Later, Alone, Kick Me and Legend are just some of the successful singles that span the band’s career, bound to form the basis of their only UK performance this summer (we’re hoping for a sneak preview of some brand new material too!)
Nothing But Thieves

With irrefutable indie sounds delivered by guitarists Dominic Craig and Joe Langridge-Brown, bassist Phillip Blake and drummer James Price paired with Conor Mason’s vaporous vocals, this is Nothing But Thieves. The Itch hit makers have come a long way, from 2013’s If You Don’t Believe, It Can’t Hurt You through to 2018’s What Did You Think When You Made Me This Way? EP, the band recently took to songwriting on the road, represented in confrontational and charismatic lead track Forever & Ever More. Taking a break from making music for the foreseeable and forefronting the global festival circuit this season, make sure you catch the quintet this week at All Points East.
While She Sleeps

Delivering heavy-meets-melodic hardcore, While She Sleeps are undeniably awake amidst the music sphere. Hot off the delivery of their 2019 album SO WHAT?, which features the likes of ANTI-SOCIAL, GUILTY PARTY and HAUNT ME, the quintet have built ties with bands on the All Points East roster, from an acoustic in-store signing at Oli Sykes‘ venue Church: Temple of Fun to recently touring across the States with Architects. Suitably warmed up, the Sheffield five-piece will continue their live crusade at All Points East Festival on 31st May.

With a chaotic, compelling and complex sound, Brighton based Architects are booming off the back of their seventh studio album All Our Gods Have Abandoned Us, which has undisputedly put the five-piece at the forefront of metalcore. With recent record cuts Hereafter, Modern Misery and Royal Beggars just a selection of distinct songs from their expansive discography, expect an array of hits performed under the haze of Sam Carter‘s coarse vocals and Adam Christianson, Alex Dean, Dan Searle and Josh Middleton‘s mighty instrumentals.
Bring Me The Horizon
21:00 – 23:00
Returning with a brand new sonic defiance, Bring Me The Horizon‘s headline set spearheads the success the group have savoured since forming in 2004. Not only are the band headlining the one-day event, but they also helped to curate the line-up which sees acts including Alice Glass, Idles and Run The Jewels take to the stages. Recent album amo attributes to BMTH’s eclectic evolution, with electro-pop elements ever different from the deathcore days of Count Your Blessings. A UK festival exclusive, Bring Me The Horizon have confirmed that their two-hour set will feature classic hits and discography deeps cuts spanning their entire back catalogue. Definitely not to be missed!
All Points East Festival takes place between the 24th May-2nd June at Victoria Park, with the Bring Me The Horizon show taking place on Friday 31st May. For various tickets, the full line-up and further information head to the All Points East Festival website.
