TRNSMT Festival 2026 has been brought forward by a few weeks to accommodate the Commonwealth Games that will take place in the city of Glasgow in July. Football fever has also gripped the nation since Scotland qualified for the World Cup, in fact Richard Ashcroft has agreed to bring his set forward on the Friday night so that fans can watch Scotland take on Morocco in an 11pm kick off, let’s hope the Scotland team live up to expectations! Let’s take a day-by-day breakdown of who is playing at TRNSMT 2026 which takes place between 19th and 21st June at Glasgow Green.
Friday
Fresh off a very successful UK tour former Verve vocalist Richard Ashcroft will attract one of the biggest crowds of the weekend to the main stage on Friday where we will get to hear some old Verve classics as well as a selection of tunes from his October 2025 album Lovin’ You. Wolf Alice could also be considered main headliners and like Ashcroft, Wolf Alice had a very successful recent arena tour coinciding with the August album release of The Clearing. Nile Rodgers & Chic will get the TRNSMT crowd boogying away with their uplifting dance vibes, Friday is looking like one big party!
Scottish acts Dylan John Thomas, Beluga Lagoon and Cammy Barnes should not be missed with both bringing folk vibes to a crowd that will be very familiar with their music. This festival wouldn’t be the same without a tasty selection of Irish bands and on Friday we are delighted to have the return of NewDad who played on the main stage in 2024 and Cork-based Cliffords who played a blinding set down at the BBC Introducing stage last year, we can’t wait to see both again. We saw South Arcade play at SWG3 back in November and it will be great to see them in a festival setting, they have built a massive fanbase over the past year. Luvcat and Songer are new artists for us but we are sure they will both be well worth checking out on the opening say of the festival.
Saturday
Indie rockers Kasabian headline the main stage on Saturday after a very successful appearance at TRNSMT in 2023, these guys know how to work a crowd so it should be a special performance! For the younger ones DJ Sonny Fodera will bring dance vibes to Glasgow Green while Loyle Carner will be another one to attract a big crowd we are sure. There are a few Scottish bands to choose from on Saturday with the return of The Snuts, The Fratellis and Brògeal being just three we will mention here.
The Last Dinner Party need no introduction after their last appearance in 2024, they have been one of the fastest growing bands in the UK during the past two years and deservedly so. We recall being part of a small crowd watching Mercury Prize winners English Teacher in 2024 when we tried really hard to drown out the noise coming from the main stage where Calvin Harris had attracted most of the festival goers, English Teacher have came on leaps and bounds since winning the Mercury prize. Keo are another band that have been making waves this past year, not long ago they finished an almost sold-out UK tour proving how good these guys are. Clementine Douglas and Rose Gray will also be a big attraction for the younger crowd.
Sunday
Two massive Scottish acts dominate the Sunday line-up: Lewis Capaldi is back after a prolonged career break and he is sure to attract the biggest crowd of the weekend whilst Amy Macdonald has been invited back after playing a secret set that went down a storm last year. A very successful UK and European tour has brought Amy back into the music limelight. Irish folk star CMAT is back on Glasgow Green after a blistering performance on the main stage in 2024 and the return of Two Door Cinema Club to the Scottish festival scene will be exciting. The music of Skye Newman has grown so much this past year and will go down well in Glasgow while Overpass make their welcome return and will be releasing their debut album Elsewhere, Always on 5th June so plenty of time for the fans to learn the new tracks before the festival. Red Rum Club drew a massive crowd to SWG3 Galvanizers Yard last year and are rising indie stars, the Glasgow crowd are going to love these guys. Westside Cowboy and Finn Forster are other acts that will be a big attraction. What a weekend we have to look forward to in June, there is so much going on.
