Grunge-fuelled power-pop quintet Babyteeth have made their mark with their debut EP Knock Yourself Out, which features four original tracks and a cover of Ariana Grande‘s God Is A Woman. We caught up with the band to find out more, including their formation, ambitions, influences and what we can expect from them next…

Firstly, tell us a bit about yourself and your band.

Eilidh: I’m baby Eilidh, I like guitars and I play guitars and I also like Babyteeth.

Camilla: That pretty much covers everyone to be honest. Apart from Samantha who likes to hit stuff. All of our baby teeth have fallen out, but we never do.

Samantha: I also drive a Polo and I like long walks in the countryside.

How did the band form and how long have you been together?

E: Over a coffee that turned into 12 hours of booze and a fight in a blue bar.

C: Yeah it was love at first sight!

Can you remember the first time you realised you wanted to make music?

C: I can’t remember ever not wanting to make music. I wrote my first song when I was about nine. It was a heavy metal tune about the uses of your different body parts. Apparently I even started swaying my tiny body about when the organ music started at my christening. We’ve all been doing this in some way or another since we were small.

Who and what are the band’s main influences?

S: Nickleback.

C: That’s it. Just Nickleback on repeat.

What do you aim to achieve as a band?

C: Make as much money as S-Club 7.

S: And world peace.

For those who are yet to see you live, what can they expect from a Babyteeth show?

Rio: Wet knickers.

C: Lots of sweaty energetic fun and a massive party.

What’s next for Babyteeth?

S: Probably Onlyfans sadly, if no one buys our EP.

C: Do you think someone would buy our dirty socks?
