After the huge success of his one take YouTube series, nothing, nowhere. has released his digital album one takes vol. 1, featuring stripped-back and reworked versions of fan-favourites, as well as a cover of American Football‘s Never Meant. We caught up with nothing, nowhere. to find out more about the album, how he’s explored his creativity during lockdown and more.

Thanks for taking the time to chat to us today. You recently released your digital album one takes vol.1, how has the reaction been so far?

Of course. I think it’s been good? I hope so at least! I just like to put out the music and let people decide how they feel.

The album stems from your One Takes YouTube series, when and how did the idea for your One Take sessions come about?

I think it came from boredom really, when I’m not on tour I like to stay busy. It just seemed like a cool thing to do for people who listen to me.

As well as reworked and stripped back versions of your own material, one takes vol. 1 includes a cover of American Football’s Never Meant. What was it about that track that made you decide to cover it?

It’s my favourite song. It reminds me of growing up and just makes me smile. I love American Football so it just made sense for that song to be my first ever cover.

Do you have a favourite track to perform in the sessions? If so, why is it your favourite?

I always say it’s a bit like someone choosing a favourite child – so I can’t really say.

As this release is titled vol. 1, can we expect there to be additional volumes of the one takes series?

Most definitely.

You’ve been keeping busy during the COVID-19 pandemic, with your One Takes sessions, as well as live streams on your Twitch channel and releasing episodes of your REAPERS REALM web series. Would you say being on lockdown has given you the opportunity to explore your creativity in different ways to usual?

I would. It forces you to think way outside of the box, there are so many new ways to look at delivering art. There are positives for sure.

What can music fans do to help keep the music industry alive during the ongoing pandemic?

Stream some songs and buy some merch!

Thanks again for taking the time to chat, do you have a final message for our readers?
