My First Time have released their new single Tough, alongside a performance video shot in a North London launderette.
“I wrote Tough at 9am on May 26th,” explains lead vocalist Isaac Stroud-Allen. “An hour earlier, I was sandwiched between five grown men in business suits on the Circle line to Liverpool Street. I had mistakenly got on the wrong tube. The heat was thick like syrup. Beads of sweat fell from unimpressed faces and there was a variety of quarter zips, roll-top rucksacks and Huel bottles on display. In that moment, I sympathised with the finance bros, the CEOs and private equity brokers of the world. There is a certain kind of sadness that only busy tube carriages can bring. It’s like the day has already died. That feeling became Tough.”
