Brutus have released a video for their new single Victoria, taken from their upcoming third album Unison Life.
“Victoria is about getting older,” explains vocalist/drummer Stefanie Mannaerts. “You know grown-up life is lurking around the corner, but you’re not afraid of what’s coming, because we’re all going to go down together.”
“Victoria has always felt nostalgic for us. Back to the old Brutus days,” adds bassist Peter Mulders. “The guitar riff has been around since 2013, but it is only now that it shines in a full song. What can be seen as a quieter song with a normal song structure, turned out to be a huge step for us to take. We can’t hide behind effects, tempo changes, shouts or blasts.”
