MUSIC NEWS: Alcopop! Records Announce Black Friday Event In Support Of Music Venue Trust

Alcopop! Records have announced a #ValueMusic 50% ON Black Friday sale taking place today (26th November).

The label will be increasing prices by 50% across their official store, with the extra profits made going to support Music Venue Trust. Those who make a Black Friday purchase may receive one of the random surprise gifts the label will be including in random orders. These include The Subways signed test pressings, sold-out Dream Nails merch, never previously available Pulled Apart By Horses cassette tapes and much more.

Alcopop! Records label boss Jack Clothier says: “Contemporary alternative music should not be a commodity to be sold off at a heavily discounted fee to bargain hunters.Rather than slash prices, here at Alcopop! Records we’ll be adding 50% on to all of our prices for the day (e.g. a £20 vinyl becomes £30), with the plan to give all profits raised to the Music Venue Trust, who have been doing vital work over the past 18 months to keep our independent live music ecosystem alive and well. By creating an incongruous ‘moment’ amongst the usual desperate savings scrum, we’re hoping to highlight how hard it currently is for musicians in this climate.”

Whilst Music Venue Trust Support Manager, Clara Cullen explains: “There’s a big overlap between the work of grassroots music venues and independent labels. Both act to support emerging talent and help develop new music. We are very grateful to Alcopop! for choosing to recognise this shared connection by asking Music Venue Trust to be their charity partner for this initiative. Thank you Alcopop!”

The #ValueMusic Black Friday event is now live over at Alcopop! Records HERE.
