MUSIC NEWS: Oceans Announce New EP ‘WE ARE NØT OKAY’

German metal quartet Oceans have announced their new digital EP WE ARE NØT OKAY, due for release on 30th April 2021 via Nuclear Blast.

Cooperating with The Ocean In Your Mind, a German NPO, Oceans add a very serious tone to their newest output by turning “music for the depressed” into active help and encouraging fans to join the cause.

“WE ARE NØT OKAY is supposed to raise awareness for the struggles people face when fighting mental illness,” says vocalist Timo Rotten. For most of us it is difficult to understand what it feels like to deal with mental illness everyday. Unfortunately a lot of people are driven even more into isolation by this. We hope that we can build bridges with our music and end the stigma of mental health in society. Three of the four songs on the EP deal with different aspects of mental illness and therefore, they are pretty dark. For the last track it was important to us to end it on a lighter note, to raise out of the abyss and back into the light. Because in the end we want to give hope to the people.”

“We dream of a world, in which people can freely show their vulnerability. We are giving hope a voice and are fighting together against suicide and for mental health,” adds Raphael Funck, Founder of The Ocean In Your Mind e.V.

Oceans will release the first single and title-track from the EP, WE ARE NØT OKAY, on 26th February 2021, which features Andy Dörner from Caliban. Pre-save the single HERE
