MUSIC INTERVIEW: Life On The Road With…P.O.D.

Currently on tour with Alien Ant Farm and special guests ’68 in support of their new album Circles, we caught up with San Diego rockers P.O.D. to hear their top tips and stories from the road!

Favourite thing about touring:

My favorite thing about touring is the traveling. Being able to travel overseas is still as exciting for me as it was the first time. We’ve been touring for a long time and I’ll never take for granted the opportunity music has afforded me to travel.

Least favourite thing about touring:

My least favorite things is being gone too long. We’ve always have put in an effort to tour smart and balance out our home life since we all have families. These days it’s a little harder when touring is really the only way to make money for a working band like us. We tour, we work and that’s how we make a living but there has to be a balance.

Five essentials for the road:

For me, these days, I need all my vitamins. I have a special Chinese cough syrup I like to mix in my tea when my throat gets scratchy. I have my old iPod with my vocal warms ups from like 20 years ago. Hopefully that won’t die on me anytime soon. I always bring an over abundance of hats so I don’t run out and lately I have my own little travel diffuser with all the oils for any occasion.

Your favourite way to pass the time:

After I’ve watched everything there is on Netflix then I can usually find something else on Netflix to watch.

“The Most”

Memorable moment:

Playing the Latin Grammy’s with Carlos Santana.

Hilarious moment:

Being punked on MTV.

Embarrassing moment:

I’ve lost my voice a few times on stage and it’s not so much embarrassing as is helpless and vulnerable.

Outrageous moment:

Breaking up an argument between a drunk Kid Rock and my cousin in a dirty NYC bathroom after MTV VMA Awards.

Drunken moment:

Not proud of those moments but nothing too crazy. I try to stay out of physical conflicts so I like to stay away from both drunks and drunkenness.

Rewarding moment:

Every time I’m home to watch my kids do what they love.
