Knife Bride have released their new EP sorry about the plague, alongside their new single lilies.

“lilies explores a complicated relationship with antidepressants – the trade-off between emotional numbness and an overwhelming darkness,” explains vocalist Mollie Clack. “It captures the feeling of being disconnected, as if you’re not fully present in your own life, while also knowing that without the medication, a deeper heaviness can take hold. The song sits in that tension, weighing what feels like two imperfect choices: facing your struggles alone or losing a sense of feeling altogether.

“This single is particularly visceral and aims to paint a gory and gothic picture, with the question, “Am I beautiful now?” reflecting an ongoing search for inner worth, shaped by intrusive thoughts and self-doubt that never quite settle. The image of broken lilies symbolising moments of despair so intense it feels as though even medication can’t reach you.
