We recently sat down and chewed the fat with Frozemode and heard whispers of a new album release. Naturally, we couldn’t resist the urge of a quick listen. Having tasted sips of success with their previous EP, Demode 2, the most recent offering is the latest in the trilogy, entitled Demode 3.
Commencing as every Frozemode record has done thus far, wildly unhinged and unfiltered, lead single Looking At Us retains the raw passion and energy the band have become synonymous with over the past two records. The thunderous drums and aggressive vocals are present from the beginning and demand attention for the entire three and a half minutes.
The band explain how the lead single Looking At Us was destined for their chaotic live performances: “Looking At Us is gritty, in your face and heavy. We wanted to double down with what we’ve been doing live, really capture that energy and make a statement. If people stare, we’ll give them something to look at.”
We recently spoke to Frozemode about their single Hollowman Ting and the influences behind it. Instantly less furious and energetic then Looking At Us, the influences on Hollowman Ting lean towards a rap-oriented sound. The lyrical content is spat with venomous passion throughout.
It is obvious from the record that Frozemode are not afraid to constantly push the boundaries of what is musically possible and acceptable. Back On Road perhaps reveals this the most, as it differs from what the band have recorded on previous records. However, working with some of London’s finest creative minds, Olly Burden (The Prodigy), Sam Matlock (WARGASM), and Charlie Russell (Kasabian) – it’s no wonder this record pushes boundaries to the limit.
A consistently high-tempo, high energy record that has built on Frozemode‘s already strong and successful foundations as a band.
