Making their debut at the very end of 2022, alt-rap trio Frozemode are relative newcomers in the music industry. Nonetheless, the band have tasted recent success with their EP Demode 2, played a string of headline dates around the UK, and have new material pending. We thought it was the perfect time to sit down with them to talk about their rollercoaster ride so far.

For people who are unaware, describe your sound?

It’s hard to pin it down to one thing, but primarily alt-rap with a lot of rock influence. High energy, in your face and with an edge to it.

Your mixtape Demode 2 was successful and well received by fans, what’s the goal for future records?

To keep establishing ourselves as artists, evolve and keep creating music we’re proud of. We definitely want to show off our versatility too down the line, got a lot of stuff in the locker for when the times ready :)

What are your favourite artists and bands right now? Who’s on your playlist?

Jim Legxcy, Freddie Gibbs, Turnstile, Clipse, Speed and Fakemink.

Tell us about the new single, Hollowman Ting. What were the influences behind the track?

The track is an interpolation of the classic Giggs track Look What The Cat Dragged In, so he’s of course a big influence. It’s a UK rap track with heavy guitars and some classic UK synths. We’re really barring heavy on this one.

What are Frozemode up to when you’re not in the studio or touring relentlessly?

Honestly nothing too glamorous haha. We each have part time jobs, Hollo and Gatz are both in the acting game too. Lisong’s been trying to work on producing and writing more on the side too.

What do future plans look like for Frozemode?

?In the immediate future, there’s an EP coming very soon that we’re all excited to release. Hollowman Ting and Looking At Us will both be on it, along with a couple more big bangers. Other than that, more shows and hopefully a tour soon too. We just want to keep growing as artists and spread the name as much as we can. We feel we’re ready for the step up.
