FESTIVAL PREVIEW: Boardmasters 2025

As we’re now well into our 2025 festival season, we’ve been looking at the festivals which will be shaping our summer. Taking place this weekend at Watergate Bay and Fistral Beach, Boardmasters has become one of our favourite summer highlights.

Check out some of the artists we can’t wait to see!

James Marriott

With his second  album Don’t Tell The Dog reaching number one earlier this year, singer-songwriter James Marriott is one of the artists you cannot miss this weekend. Expect sincere, emotive songs exploring challenges experienced during his life many of which the fans in the audience will be able to connect with. The appearance at the festival takes place before he heads out on an extensive UK and EU tour later this year, if you love what you hear at Boardmasters then be sure to catch him at his own headline shows.

Kaiser Chiefs

The first day’s special guest slot for a festival is always an exciting slot but for Kaiser Chiefs, bringing their era-defining Employment on tour for its 20th anniversary is going to be exceptional. The set will undoubtedly be full of constant hits as their debut record is packed with them from start to finish, but we’re sure that there will be other tracks dotted around for some fans of their more recent albums (and we know that they have plenty to choose from!). Kaiser Chiefs have proved their status as a mainstay in the British indie music canon and will definitely liven up the Newquay coast for the acts coming after their slot.

DEADLETTER

Providing a chunky dose of genre-blending sounds, DEADLETTER will be showcasing material including their debut album Hysterical Strength. With their spoken-word vocals, fiery post-punk twang and pure joy shown when performing live, head along to their set and we’re sure we’ll see you in the pit!

Bradley Simpson

Bradley Simpson has regenerated into his own artist. Having this year released his debut solo album and toured across the UK & Europe, he now leads his own front line with a flare and excitement that’s been missing from the British music scene. We stress this, do not miss his set. This is not a boy band singer going for quick one hit wonder, this is a rebirth of what might be one of the most exciting new artists in years.

Cassia

Cassia feel as though they belong on every beach festival line up possible, their sound transports you to warm, summer nights. Their genre blending crafts a bridge between the listener and a dreamy escape. Their album everyone, outside is destined to gain a hefty amount of adds to peoples playlists in the build up. We can’t wait to be swaying to them in the heat of the August sun.

Wet Leg

Wet Leg are back. After the release of their triumphant debut album and their touring cycle back in 2022, the band went under the radar for almost two years before playing a secret comeback show in Brighton and rocking the festival circuit prior to releasing their second studio album, Moisturizer, at the start of July. With an all new look and a distinct yet familiar sound, we have been so eager to see Wet Leg grace the Boardmasters stage ever since their entrance into the music scene and we’re certain that, as it is finally happening this year, it’s going to be a great fit for the festival.
