Mimi Barks has released a video for her new single Power durch Verrat, taken from her upcoming EP Dreamstate of Fear.
“If this song was a movie I’d call it The Consequence of Disrespect… Stylistically it sits somewhere between The Crow and Natural Born Killers,” Mimi Barks explains. “I imagine a female protagonist walking into a strip club wearing full corpse paint and a white tanktop with cowgirl leather flare pants, confronting a past lover with a gun. It’s dark, sexual and romantic in a way and almost theatrical. Then there’s this image of her dancing on the dead body like a stripper, turning murder into performance art. In reality, the songand the video ended up being much more stripped back and DIY than that cinematic vision in my head but people will see that for themselves.”
Dreamstate of Fear is due for release on 24th July 2026, available to pre-order HERE.
