Post-hardcore trio Second Harbour have announced their new EP Coalesce, due for release on 12th December 2025 via their new label home SharpTone Records.
“We had a lot to prove with this EP. To the world, absolutely, but to ourselves even more so,” says the band’s Vincent Morency. “We didn’t want to come out with what’d been done before, or worse, what we’d done before. In the past, we’d always felt concerned about assimilating into the scene, and writing songs that fit into whatever sub-genre we were a part of.
“This time around, equipped with everything we’d learned through our past releases, we felt it high time we took the swings we always wanted to. So we did just that. We came out swinging. Our title track is four-and-a-half minutes long, our third track has both the happiest and heaviest parts we’ve ever written, and our main single has so many lyrics, we need a permit for them. We took these swings and left the studio more confident than ever in the work we’d done. This collection of songs is Second Harbour. Coalesce IS Second Harbour.”
The band have also released their new single Relative.
“Right as we wrapped Relative, we knew it’d be the EP opener,” shares John Muggianu. “It’s everything we wanted out of our first track. It’s urgent, it’s vicious, and more than anything, it’s unrelenting.”
