Warner Music Group and Roblox have announced that Twenty One Pilots will be performing a special interactive concert on 17th September (4PM PT/7PM ET) via the Roblox platform.
The virtual concert experience will kickstart the band’s Takeøver Tour with it featuring the first-ever dynamic setlist allowing fans to create the five-song setlist in real-time. Alongside this will be online pre-concert Roblox quests, exclusive custom designed virtual merchandise (verch), a live-chat with the duo after the event and even a pre-show experience which is live on the platform now. Fans will also be able to look into the creation of the virtual concert in behind-the-scenes footage as part of the pre-show experience.
The band’s creative director Mark Eshleman says: “Twenty One Pilots is a band that has spent their entire career figuring out how to reach the most people possible. From selling out the small room and moving to the big venue next door, to now launching a virtual experience with Roblox for millions of users, the goal has always been the same. The Roblox team has made an effort every step of the way to honor the band’s fans, its lore, and history to make sure this experience aligns with what people can expect from a show.”
