MUSIC INTERVIEW: Of Mice & Men

It’s not long before Of Mice & Men bring their headline tour to the UK, in support of their latest album Defy. We caught up with vocalist/bassist Aaron Pauley to talk about the forthcoming dates, his favourite place to visit in the UK and more.

You’re currently on the European leg of your headline tour, what have been the standout moments for you so far?

Too many to list. It’s been amazing being able to do a proper headliner over here with a brand new album. There is so much energy.

You bring the tour to the UK very soon with support from Wage War and Sylar, what can UK fans expect from the show?

Expect a raucous, loud, rock show! Expect a sore neck and tired ears the next day as well!

When you tour in the UK are there any foods you can’t wait to eat or places you have to visit while you’re over here?

Nandos, baby! Give me all the halloumi and chicken!

What is one thing that you miss from back home when you’re out on tour?

My family. They’re my everything.

You’re touring in support of your album Defy which was released earlier this year, is the set-list heavily weighted with new material?

It’s got lots of new material, but lots of old material as well. Although, the new material seems much more popular than older material in regards to fan interaction.

Do you have a favourite new track to play live?

That’s hard to say. I love playing all of these new songs!

You also recently covered Pink Floyd’s ‘Money’, what made you choose this particular song to cover? What was it like adapting it to fit your sound?

It was all just for fun. Initially I suggested ‘Money’ purely to take the piss, but it ended up being really fun.

Finally what’s your plans for the rest of 2018?

Work on even more new music, and lots of tour dates. Be sure to check OFMICETICKETS.COM to see when we’ll be in a town near you!
