It’s the news that Slipknot fans across the world have all been waiting for, as the band confirm that they’ll release their new album We Are Not Your Kind on 9th August via Roadrunner Records.
“This is the most time we’ve had to write a record, and work stuff out together,” comments guitarist Jim Root. “One of my inspirations this time around was those artists that recorded full length albums – not just songs. While the industry is moving toward singles, Slipknot wanted to make an album experience, front to back.”
To coincide with the announcement, the band have released a video for new single Unsainted.

Slipknot have a busy live schedule ahead, from festival appearances, the Knotfest Roadshow with Volbeat, Gojira and Behemoth, and an Australian tour with Metallica. On 9th June, the band’s performance at Rock Am Ring Festival in Germany will be live-streamed globally (in GAS territories the set will be aired on MagentaMusik 360). They will also headline Download Festival on 15th June.
