MUSIC NEWS: Billie Eilish Release New Single ‘wish you were gay’

Billie Eilish has released a new track called wish you were gay, taken from her forthcoming debut album WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?

“wish you were gay is about wanting to be with someone so bad it hurts, and not wanting to accept that this person doesn’t want you in return,” she explains of the track. “At least if they were gay, I’d have a valid reason for their rejection and lack of interest in being with me. I wrote the song when I was 14 and madly in love with a boy. It’s supposed to be a fun and playful way at dealing with rejection.”

The second in a three-part mini series has also been released, called A Snippet Into Billie’s Mind – wish you were gay. Each episode will bring new insight into a song from her debut album, helping fans understand her process and shine new light on her music.

WHEN WE FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO? is due for release on 29th March via Darkroom/Interscope Records, available to pre-order HERE.

For another 24 hours (ending 6th March), a portion of the proceeds from sales of Billie Eilish’s BLOHSH apparel will benefit The Trevor Project, the world’s largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBTQ youth.
