While many of us are easing ourselves into the New Year it’s quite the opposite for UK alt-rockers Chapter and Verse, who are already midway through their tour with Emarosa and Sun Arcana as they gear up to release their Glow EP. In amongst all of the madness we caught up with the band to hear their top tips and stories from the road.
Favourite thing about touring:
Jonny: Having the chance to listen to the Wicked soundtrack on repeat in the van.

Talking to one another. Remember when that was a thing?
“The Most”
Memorable moment:
2000trees Main Stage 2018 on the Hellions tour. Genuinely heart warming, was proper made up. Got to see so many insane bands too. Best festival.
Hilarious moment:
Nothing is funny about touring. Take it seriously or don’t do it at all.
Embarrassing moment:
We played a show in Liverpool very early on. All dayer. Super busy around 8pm. Dead by 11pm when we ‘headlined’. The crowd consisted of Darren’s family and a young couple. Excruciating. We thanked the couple who stayed to watch, they told us that they “left their bag behind the stage and didn’t want to interrupt.”
Outrageous moment:
Darren walked out of Macmillan Fest with what he thought was my bass head but was actually a box full of the venues microphones. He literally stole from charity. This image was circulated round all bands/management, trying to hunt him down. Crime watch.
Drunken moment:
Stumbling upon a freshers party after a show in Lincoln and, to our delight, discovering the Chuckle Brothers were the entertainment for the evening.
Rewarding moment:
The response from fans, friends, family and strangers after we got our van broken into after a London show and all our gear stolen. We launched a kick starter to try and soften the blow and the response was incredible. The best show of humanity and community. <3
