Brighton-based alt-pop quartet Orchards have a busy time ahead of them this month, with the release of their new EP Losers/Lovers imminent and forthcoming live dates. We caught up with the quartet to hear their top tips and stories from the road, from backdrop related injuries to being saved by their tour manager in Germany.
Favourite thing about touring:
Visiting new places and meeting new people. We love to make new pals while we are on tour.
Least favourite thing about touring:
The endless baguettes, oh god the baguettes…

Your favourite way to pass the time:
On the road? Having a wander around whatever city we are in when we have the chance. Coffee. Finding boss vegan scran (that’s Scouse for food – Ed.)
“The Most”
Memorable moment:
Hearing the crowd sing our songs back to us, that’s memorable every time it happens.
Hilarious moment:
Probably the pole dancing competition Dan had with someone at 2000trees during the Silent Disco, some moves were busted out there. Obviously Dan won.
Embarrassing moment:
Maybe when the full backdrop fell on Will’s head at The Great Escape just before we were about to go into our first song.
Outrageous moment:
Being followed on the motorway in Germany by an unknown biker who said he wanted to come to our next show with us when we stopped for petrol. That was weird, we managed to lose him thanks to our tour manager John <3
Drunken moment:
Late night karaoke in Cardiff, that was all kinds of fun. Blue Honey I think it was called!
Rewarding moment:
Selling out our upcoming EP release show at Paper Dress Vintage in London on 5th July. That felt so good!
