Bring The Noise UK

FESTIVAL PREVIEW: Rock Werchter Top Picks

Rock Werchter 2016

So Rock Werchter looks killer, and while we’re crying into our bank balance wishing we could afford to head there this weekend there are some lucky souls who get to enjoy four whole days of incredible music (just take a look at the line-up?!). Whether you’re off there or like us you would cut off a limb to attend, check out our top picks!

Bring Me The Horizon – Friday Main Stage – 15:50-16:50

Since the release of their critically acclaimed album That’s The Spirit Bring Me The Horizon have well and truly blown up having taken Wembley Arena by storm, performed at Radio 1’s Big Weekend and dominated their stage at Glastonbury. Long gone are the days that you can catch these guys in intimate venues (unless you’re really lucky) but we can promise you that they’ll put on one hell of a show. Their new material sounds even more epic in a live environment, so do yourself a favour and include them in your schedule.

Rammstein – Friday Main Stage – 23:30-1:00

If you can keep your eyes open after a full day of music you will not regret it: having witnessed their live spectacle during their headline set at Download Festival we’re incredibly jealous of anybody who gets to see Rammstein at Rock Werchter. Expect jaw dropping pyro and a generally outrageous performance. We won’t give away too many spoilers but take our word for it, if you’re going to do one thing at this festival it’s spend an hour and a half of your time checking out Rammstein.

Alessia Cara – Saturday KluB C – 19:10-20:10

This songstress has done nothing but blow us away with her tunes (note: Here) and since we stumbled upon Alessia Cara we have been dying to see her live. Although we’ve not been lucky enough to do so yet we want you to make us jealous and tell us all about it when you get back (we won’t hold a grudge, we promise). We can only begin to imagine how her songs translate in a live atmosphere – any live footage we’ve seen online looks GREAT – we have a hunch that she will be a highlight of the weekend. Go to the KluB C stage and see for yourself.

The Last Shadow Puppets – Sunday Main Stage – 19:00-20:15

We’ve always been big fans of Arctic Monkeys and the Rascals, so when Alex Turner and Miles Kane joined forces to bring us The Last Shadow Puppets we melted a little bit inside. We’ve always been suckers for The Age Of The Understatement and when the duo recently revealed their new album Everything You’ve Come To Expect we swooned big time. Expect a very suarve performance from Turner and Kane, they certainly don’t do things by half measures.

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis – Sunday Main Stage – 21:15-22:30

We had the priviledge of witnessing Macklemore & Ryan Lewis live at Reading & Leeds Festival in 2014, and let’s face it pretty much everybody who listened to the radio in 2012 would attempt to rap Can’t Hold Us back to anybody in their presence (us 100% included). You may not have time to learn their back catalogue in the next couple of days, but one thing we do know is that if you make it down to their set on the Main Stage you will have the best time. Let yourself go and pull out your best dance moves.
