Ahead of the release of new DreamWorks Animation film Mr. Peabody and Sherman tomorrow (Friday 7th February), a naming ceremony has taken place at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home.
Aussie pop star Peter Andre, who provides the UK single Kid for the forthcoming animation, headed to the animal shelter to see two dogs named after Mr. Peabody and Sherman themselves!
Of the ceremony, Andre – a long-time supporter of the organisation – states: “I’m so excited to be reuniting with Battersea Dogs & Cats Home – a fantastic charity who bring happiness to so many families across the UK through their dogs. I personally adopted a dog from them and they were amazing. I can’t think of a better way to mark my new partnership with DreamWorks Animation on their brand new family movie, Mr. Peabody & Sherman, than by naming two of Battersea’s dogs after the film’s two main characters. Now we just need to find them a new home.”
Starring Ty Burrell (Modern Family) and Max Charles (The Amazing Spiderman), the film follows canine protagonist Mr. Peabody, the all-round genius and the world’s smartest taking dog. He and his adopted (and human) son Sherman use his latest invention – the WABAC machine – to bolt back in time and witness iconic events with their own eyes. With such great opportunity comes great responsibility, and a broken rule sees the pair in a rush to fix history and rescue their future.
