NEWS: Baroness in serious coach crash

baroness_1American band Baroness have been involved in a serious accident, when their coach fell 30ft down a viaduct just outside of Bath.

At around 11:30 this morning emergency services were called to Brassknocker Hill where the coach had fallen 30ft (10m) down a viaduct. Whilst there’s no definite cause to the crash, BBC News reports that it could have been down to the bad weather, particularly the torrential rain.

Avon and Somerset police have confirmed they will be investigating the cause of the accident.

Whilst there’s little known about those affected and injured in the crash, it’s been said that two people have been badly injured, with two on board suffering multiple fractures and seven with minor injuries. All 9 involved in the crash are currently in hospital; 7 at the Royal United hospital in Bath and 2 at the Frenchay hospital in Bristol.

The band were set to play Southampton this evening, but that show – and the rest of the tour – has obviously been postponed.

Here’s hoping that no one has been seriously hurt and that everyone involved has a speedy recovery. Everyone at Bring The Noise is thinking of those involved in the crash.

We’ll keep you updated with any news as soon as we hear anything.
