Tickets went on-sale today for the ‘Peace One Day’ Concert which will be headlined by Elton John & his band on the 21st September 2012.
The concert marks the end of the London 2012 Festivals and is being headed up by Peace One Day Ambassador ‘Jude Law’ and Co-Founder ‘Jeremy Gilley.’ It takes place at Wembley Arena and although only Sir Elton has been announced, more artists will follow over the next few weeks.
As well as being an important event marking a day of non-violence around the globe it will be a legacy show, celebrating the triumph of ‘The Global Truce’ on Peace Day 2012 as well as the ‘Olympic Truce’.
The ‘Peace One Day’ is a non-profit organisation that looks to diminish violence for one day both at homes, schools, local communities and on the international stage. In 2001, they led a process that marked the 21st September as an annual day of cease-fire/non-violence by the UN member states. As well as a providing a day for families and communities to be reunited, it is a window of opportunity for humanitarian efforts and aid.
