UK Post-hardcore 6 piece Devil Sold His Soul have revealed that their new album ‘Empire Of Light’ will be released on September 17th.
The first single from that album, ‘No Remorse, No Regrets’, had its premiere on Monday night on Radio 1′s Rock Show, but if you missed that you can listen to it below. And believe us, you want to.
Vocalist Ed Gibbs says the album will be quite positive, and oddly envokes the spirit of fictional boxing legend Rocky Balboa: “There is a quote in the movie ‘Rocky Balboa’ that we all love where Stallone says “The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get it and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done!” It’s just such a moving speech, and it really sums up the message we’re trying to put across.’’
We’ve heard the new track and concur with this statement, it is a rather euphoric, uplifting experience in places. Have a listen and see if you agree, and watch a few clips from the past year of touring and recording here:
‘Empire of Light’ is their first release through Small Town Records, and was produced by guitarist John Renshaw.
