theFALLEN are a heavy rock band hailing from York, and have just released their debut album: Bury Your Demons. It’s a stunning debut and is bound to put the band on the rock map.
Ignite The Fire is a musical introduction, with an eerie, almost epic sound. Judgement Day really gets the album going though and sets the pace for the rest of it. Vocalist, Johnny Fallen, sounds amazing on the track and it will be a great song live. The music is head bangingly good, making way for the rest of the album.
Face In The Dirt and Dirty Little Dead Girl are songs that really show you what the band can do. The songs draw comparisons to the likes of Avenged Sevenfold, and Face In The Dirt contains some amazing guitaring. Dirty Little Dead Girl is a clear album highlight, with its cheeky lyrics and catchy chorus, and is one that will really bring in some new fans.
The heaviness continues for the majority of the album. Starting Over, The Harbinger and Cuts Like Glass are all incredible rock songs, and very well put together, showing the true talent of the band. Each one contains stand out vocals and some really good music, with The Harbinger containing another really good riff, making it one of the heavier songs on the album. Starting Over will be a fan favourite whereas The Harbinger will be another popular one for the live shows.
Bury Your Demons slows down with Distance and Ghost and these still sound amazing. Distance starts off with soft strumming and beautiful vocals from Fallen, but picks up with the chorus. It’s another peak of the album and really lets some emotion out. Ghosts contains an incredible guitar intro that is easily comparable to the talent of Synyster Gates (Avenged Sevenfold). It’s another emotional song, with some standout guitaring and an amazing piano finish.
De Integro ends the album with a different sound. Although not a peak, it’s a calmer ending to the album. It’s another eerie sound, but Fallen’s vocals do sound great when they come in.
Bury Your Demons is a fantastic album from theFALLEN, and we hope to see more of the band in the future. It’s one of the best debuts and at just 10 songs, seems very short lived. It has high points throughout and is an album – and band – definitely worth checking out.
