NEW NOISE: The Dirty Youth

Do you like female fronted bands that pack a punch? (Not literally). Then look no further than South Wales’s finest exports The Dirty Youth. Having formed 4 years ago they have nurtured their sound, fluctuating between classic/rock, metal and punk tinged femme fronted attitude.

Having played Bloodstock 08 and Hellfire Festival 09, The Dirty Youth’s momentum continued in 2010, performing at the Getaway Rock Festival in Sweden along with Slash, Motorhead and more. Later that month Matt (guitar/piano) was asked to play piano on Bullet For My Valentine’s latest album “Fever” and performed with them Live on Radio 1?s Zane Lowe show at the BBC Maida Vale studios in London. Meanwhile Danni (vox) was asked to guest on one of CBS’ Radio stations in New York after being hand picked by DJ Frankie Russo for the ‘World Rock Chicks’ Live Show, which has included guests such as Joan Jett, Chrissie Hynde and Gwen Stefani. Not bad eh?

2011 has seen The Dirty Youth play to a strong crowd on the acoustic stage at Download Festival. It seems the ball of Rock is rolling for this female fronted quintet. Their debut album ‘Red Light Fix’ was mastered by none other than Sterling Sound NY (Aerosmith, AC/DC, Michael Jackson). Do not believe the hype in terms of any Paramore references, due to merely having a female fronted vocalist. The Dirty Youth stand out from the crowd and are a fresh UK outfit to take on any global counterparts. It seems their time is just beginning…
