We love hearing about brand new music festivals here at Bring The Noise…especially when they’re packed full of the best bands around, including some of the UK’s most outstanding new rock and metal talent.
Hevy Music Festival is such a festival….a 2 day metal, rock and hardcore extravaganza on the 7th and 8th August 2010. Situated in the heart of Kent, a 10 minute drive from the Eurotunnel port at Ashford, Hevy is shaping up to be one of the festivals we’re going to get most excited about this year. Not least for the reason that Glassjaw will be making a rare and exclusive appearance to headline the main stage on Sunday evening, with Gallows headlining on Saturday.
Devil Sold His Soul, Trash Talk, Sylosis, Bury Tomorrow, Chickenhawk and EastStrikeWest have also been added to the Hevy Music Festival’s 2nd Stage line-up, which is being sponsored by alternative music magazine Rock Sound, with The Plight, Throats and Outcry Collective added for the Red Bull Bedroom Jam.
“We are unbelievably excited to announce that Glassjaw will be our Sunday headliner! Their influence has been staggering, the loyalty towards them astounding and the number of careers owed to them, unfathomable. These guys are undoubtedly the biggest post-hardcore band on the planet and we are flying them over from New York for what will be their only UK appearance this summer!” say organisers James and Claire.
“Glassjaw’s music has defined a genre and inspired a whole generation of bands, but their live shows are even more intense than their records. It’s easy to understand why these guys have been elevated to rock royalty status.”
“With Glassjaw joining the likes of Gallows, The Subways, Sepultura, Fucked Up, Rolo Tomassi, Napalm Death, Polar Bear Club, Young Guns, Devil Sold His Soul, Trash Talk & Sylosis, we can’t wait to bring these incredible bands together for the Hevy Music Festival 2010. It’s going to be one hell of a weekend!”
Tickets are priced from just £69 for weekend camping, with other camping deals available from the site.
