Michael Jackson Tribute Concert Moves to the UK

Michael originally wanted to start his comeback in the UK. After visiting Britain earlier this week, I think it is only fitting that we stage THE TRIBUTE there’. Jermaine Jackson

Jermaine Jackson and World Awards Media have confirmed that they are moving THE TRIBUTE In Memory Of Michael Jackson to the UK. The tribute concert originally planned for September 26, 2009 in Vienna in front of the Schoenbrunn Palace has been postponed and will now be held in the summer of 2010.  An announcement detailing the venue and date is expected shortly

All Vienna ticket holders will receive a refund for the tickets they have purchased for the planned concert at Schoenbrunn Palace.

Jermaine Jackson comments “Many artists and performers who I have spoken to personally told me that it would be a great honour to be part of this memorial concert for my late brother – an artist who influenced the music world like virtually no other. However, due to the short time frame it was not possible for many of them to change their schedule so that they could be on stage in Vienna on September 26, therefore we decided, after careful consideration, to change the date of the tribute concert to the summer 2010. Now we have more time to put this monumental show together and not just 8 weeks. Michael originally wanted to start his comeback in the UK. After visiting Britain earlier this week, I think it is only fitting that we stage THE TRIBUTE there”.

World Awards Media who are promoting the concert maintain that the original stage concept of an imperial theatre for THE TRIBUTE will be exactly the same for the UK event with a gigantic crown taking pride of place above centre stage as many of the world’s greatest artists perform a selection of Michael’s greatest hits.

Ticket sales for THE TRIBUTE in the UK will begin shortly after a final date has been set, but no later than December 1, 2009. Prices will start at 44 GBP (approx. 50 Euro).

All tickets that have been purchased for THE TRIBUTE in Vienna on September 26 2009 will be refunded. Every person who purchased a ticket via the Internet or in a call centre will receive an email today from oeticket and will be provided with information on how it will be refunded. Tickets purchased at ticket-outlets can return their tickets at the same location starting on Monday, September 21, and their money will be refunded immediately.
